BERKOV WIND MUSIC / BDM / is one of the oldest orchestras in our lands

History: In 1902, enthusiastic young intellectuals from the town of Berkovitsa formed a brass band. The staff is growing and over the years has a different status - city, military, municipal. It accumulates a rich repertoire of overtures, marches, waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, arrangements of classical music and folklore.
Present: Time has forced the orchestra to undergo changes and since 1992 in the spirit of the private initiative the Berkovitsa Brass Music has been formed. The repertoire includes authentic and processed folklore, marches, classical plays and more. The group is equipped with high professional class instruments and sound system.

Publishing activity: Berkovska Duhova Muzika has released 10 CDs and 2 DVDs with people, handkerchiefs and folk music from all regions of Bulgaria, original plays and arrangements of popular classical and folk melodies. BNT produces for the cast 3 documentaries, broadcast many times with high ratings, guest at European festivals. Collaborations with famous performers from different genres are frequent - Nina Nikolina, Lubo Kirov, Hristo Mutafchiev, Lilyana Galevska, Kamen Donev, Yordanka Hristova, Yordan Yonchev - Gamzata, Ruslan Maynov, Iva Davidova, Etienne Levy, Mihail Yonchev, Neda Samardji, Lyubisha. , and others.
More important public appearances: Berkovitsa Wind Music is a major participant in Lili Ivanova's hit song "Winds", as well as in numerous collaborations with other popular artists. He often partners with the actors and musicians from the team of Slavi Trifonov and 7/8, is a guest in the musical television reality shows of Bulgaria.

In the award-winning Drumevi Theater Festival, the play "Lazaritsa" by Yordan Radichkov (directed by V. Valcheva) is a full participant in the action on stage. BDM also appears in the play Golemanov - a production of the Melpomene Theater, with the participation of Lubo Neykov, Elena Petrova, Stefan Ryadkov and others. Recordings of BDM sound like a musical arrangement in other theater productions and films. The sound canvas of the film The Inverted Christmas Tree (special award at the festival in Karlovy Vary, directed by Ivan Cherkelov) is entirely by BDM.
The orchestra regularly participates in national celebrations - New Year's programs, concerts under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, folklore television programs.
He is a frequent guest on the "Show of Fame" and the morning block of bTV,
the folklore show "Our music is coming" on BNT,
programs on Folklore TV. BDM welcomed many
Bulgarians the new 2013 and 2017 on Battenberg Square
in the festive television program of BNT
Scene under the stars. On May 12, 2018,
BDM and the Northern Ensemble were part
from the festive program on the occasion of the day
of the city of Pleven. In "Before Noon" and "The Show of
Nikolaos Tsitiridis ”on bTV, BDM created
festive mood for

Greece in joint concerts with the orchestras of
Goran Bregovic and Boban Markovic, as well as with
formations from the USA, France, India, Serbia,
Turkey, Macedonia, Romania.
Participates in the First Honki - Tonk Festival
in Bulgaria. He won the Special Prize of
the media of the International Folklore Festival
in the city of Gorizia - Italy; has an invitation for special participation in the famous Balkan festival of wind music in Serbia - Guca, won the award for best dance performance in Bulgaria at the International Festival in honor of the most famous composer of folk music for wind orchestras - Diko Iliev. Opens and accompanies the First Brandy Festival - National Palace of Culture - 2015.
Annually since 2017 BDM in partnership with the Municipality of Berkovitsa is the organizer and host of "BDM FEST - Northwestern Festival of Brass Music". Guests from Serbia and Northern Macedonia, along with many Bulgarian bands, erupt in incredible Balkan fun from noon to midnight.

Berkovitsa Brass Music is always looking for new ones
